flowersPainters use a number of materials to produce the effects they desire. These include the materials of the surface, the pigments, and the medium in which the color is mixed. Utilizing the same input devices and Adobe Photoshop, the painting surface is the computer screen, the pigments are virtual but infinite, and the digital paintbrush allows the artist to mimic the painting process by creating soft strokes of color with a press of the mouse or gesture of the stylus. With a variety of preset brushes to fill a wide range of uses and the ability to create custom brushes using the Brushes palette, one can apply colors gradually or quickly, with soft edges and transitions.
